Riches of a fertile land
- Foie gras: the gastronomic reputation of the region is second to none. Gourmets know that corn fed ducks give a particularly fine foie gras. The Gers region is the first traditional foie gras producer.
- Armagnac is the oldest whisky made produced in the heart of Gascony. Bas-Armagnac, Armagnac-Ténarèze and Haut-Armagnac together constitute a vineyard which is 15000 hectares of vines planted on three regions, including the Gers.
- Produced in the entire western part of the Gers, Floc de Gascogne is born of subtle marriage of Armagnac and grape juice. AOC since 1990, Floc de Gascogne is a wine to drink. Red or white, this appetizer goes well with foie gras, melon, cheese or chocolate.
- The vineyards of Saint-Mont and Madiran are located in the rolling hills of western Gers. These wines were recognized by the Pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostela. Today, their quality and reputation are well known.
- The Pousse Rapière is a renowned local cocktail invented by Lassus family in remembrance of the spirit of Gascony to wield the sword. This is an Armagnac liqueur and orange mixed with a sparkling. It prepares perfect meals in the fun and conviviality.
